I ate 12,000 calories a day and pumped iron 25/7 for a year in preparation for this role. It wasn’t until I just saw these stills that I realized it was animated. I really wish someone had told me… BUT IT LOOKS AMAZING!!!!
But all jokes aside… this is pretty surreal. A bonafide *pinch me* moment. I remember playing with a mysterious green-ish castle toy at my aunt and uncle’s house when I was a kid, and my cousin said, “Oh, you’re playing with Castle Grayskull!” I stared at him and he said, “Masters of the Universe?” I think I stared some more. I don’t remember exactly… I was like, five. My cousin held up the muscle-y toy I had been playing with and told me his name was He-Man… and that I should keep playing with it and practicing because one day I would voice him on Kevin Smith’s Netflix animated series.
Okay that last part is a lie, but the rest of it is true! I’ve been doing He-Man’s voice since I was a kid. I just get paid for it now. Thanks for the prophecy, Cousin Ed!!
And thanks to @thatkevinsmith, @mattel, and @netflix for trusting me with this epic role. And to @hamillhimself for losing ungraciously always and forever because Skeletor sucks.
Masters of the Universe: Revelation (Part 1) premieres July 23 only on Netflix.
